WebstaurantStore, the largest online supplier of food service equipment, is growing its presence in Western Maryland. The company has opened a new state-of-the-art logistics center in Hagerstown, which will support two-day shipping to the majority of the country.

According to the Herald Mail, the company could employ up to 400 workers at the Washington County facility, which is its largest location by size.

“Webstaurant’s commitment to bringing jobs and advanced logistics to Hagerstown showcases our city as a regional hub for commerce and innovation,” said Doug Reaser, economic development manager in Hagerstown. “These new positions strengthen our workforce and attract complementary industries, and each job created expands opportunities for families and fuels the long‑term prosperity of the region.”

WebstaurantStore chose Hagerstown due to its proximity to major populations, providing the company with expedited shipping. Reaser says this facility will be the company’s “key Northeastern distribution site” with the largest technology investment of their locations nationwide.

The company has had a successful decade since first locating in Maryland. In 2014, WebstaurantStore purchased a 525,000 square-foot space in Cumberland, Md., which became its second distribution location on the East Coast. The company later signed a lease in the Eastgate Logistics Park in Harford County for an additional distribution center near I-95.

Both the Hagerstown and Cumberland locations are owned by Clark & Associates, a private company that also owns Sierra Hygiene, a paper converting manufacturer in Frostburg.
