The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) announced today that Data Systems International Inc., (DSI) will be relocating its global headquarters to 1201 Walnut in Kansas City from its current location in Overland Park, Kansas. A leading global provider of enterprise mobility solutions, DSI’s move to Missouri will create 15 new jobs while relocating 145 from the state of Kansas.

“The decision by a high-tech software company like DSI to invest more than $15 million while retaining 145 jobs and creating 15 new ones, making room for its growth plans for its global headquarter operations over the next several years, is excellent news for the Kansas City economy,” said David Kerr, Director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. “Under the leadership of Governor Nixon, our administration is focused on creating jobs and moving our economy forward, and I am pleased that we were able to provide the economic tools to help make this project possible.”

The state of Missouri’s incentive package consisted of $6,302,821 in Missouri Quality Jobs incentives, which the company would be eligible for if its meets all the requirements of the program in terms of investment and job creation; and sales tax exemptions. The move to downtown Kansas City, Missouri, is targeted for March 2012.

“It was my pleasure to meet with the owner of Data Systems International, Mr. McGraw, as we worked to secure this innovative company in Kansas City,” said Kansas City Mayor Sly James. “He expressed to me that the downtown location they have now selected would be a great tool in recruiting the young talented employees that are the lifeblood of a company like DSI. Mr. McGraw wanted his employees to be in the center of it all, just a short walk from some of the most exciting music and entertainment venues in the nation. He wanted his company’s creativity to be part of the artistic and cultural excitement in downtown Kansas City. It is my pleasure to welcome DSI, its employees and owners to their new home in the heart of the city,” said the Mayor.
