The Lincoln (Neb.) Partnership for Economic Development (LPED) is excited to announce the beginning of its Lincoln FastTrack Certified Sites Program, which aims to help industrial projects move faster and with greater confidence for the Lincoln area, leading to increased site development.
FastTrack is designed to identify and promote development-ready locations for manufacturing, logistics and other targeted growth projects. Certification through the FastTrack Certified Sites Program is awarded to properties that have successfully completed a defined set of program requirements that confirm a site is primed for development and ready for investment.
Each FastTrack site is proactively vetted in advance for key development factors such as zoning, utility capacity, environmental considerations, access and overall feasibility. Sites are then placed into two different tiers—Tier One: Prepared, which represents sites that meet baseline criteria for industrial development and are positioned for near-term projects and Tier Two: FastTrack Certified, which contains sites that build upon Prepared requirements from Tier One and complete additional measures to further reduce development risk and accelerate project timelines.
The goals of the FastTrack Certified Sites Program are to accelerate project timelines, strengthen economic competitiveness, increase predictability, showcase investable locations, enhance partnerships with landowners and utilities, and increase deal conversion.
“Speed and certainty win projects; with the Lincoln FastTrack program, it delivers both,” says Tom Beckius, Lincoln City Councilmember. “By eliminating upfront risk and accelerating timelines, we’re strengthening Lincoln’s competitive edge and making it easier for companies to choose Lincoln with confidence,” Beckius adds.
Property owners and development teams interested in Lincoln FastTrack certification can submit an application for review, which will provide basic site information and documentation related to access and completed due diligence studies. More details on the program can be found at the LPED website at https://selectlincoln.org/lincoln-fasttrack.
