Lowes Foods is adding two stores in the Charlotte, N.C., area--one in Kannapolis that will open June 18, and a new store to be built in Mooresville that is expected to open in 2027. The Kannapolis store will be the third in Cabarrus County. The Mooresville store will be the second location in the town and in Iredell County.
The Kannapolis store is expected to hire 100 to 120 full- and part-time employees. These stores will join three previously announced locations throughout the Carolinas.
“Like all our Lowes Foods stores, our new Kannapolis store is very focused on supporting all things local,” Lowes Foods President Tim Lowe said. “Our commitment to local includes offering produce sourced through our partnerships with more than 200 farmers from the Carolinas and featuring a wide assortment of unique local products found throughout the store.”
The 52,000-square-foot Kannapolis store is part of a large development, according to developer MVP Properties’ website. The new stores will join previously announced locations in Wendell and Fuquay-Varina, and Lyman, South Carolina.
