NC: Specialty Automotive Manufacturer QA1 Brands Expanding In Mooresville With New Plant

Feb 11, 2026

Specialty automotive manufacturer QA1 Brands is establishing a manufacturing facility in an 81,120-square-foot industrial building in Mooresville Business Park East in Mooresville, N.C. The Minnesota-based company plans to use the Mooresville facility as the center of its East Coast operations.

QA1 Brands currently has 45 employees in Mooresville from a deal it struck in 2024 to buy locally based Detroit Speed & Engineering. The new facility will allow for significant growth, the company says.

“The acquisition of Detroit Speed in 2024 brought QA1 to Mooresville, and we’re excited to build on that momentum by expanding manufacturing, growing our team, and enhancing our world class custom car shop,” QA1 Brands CEO Melissa Scoles said. “We’re expanding our presence in Mooresville because we believe deeply in this community and its role in our future.”

Late last week, Trinity Capital bought land at Mooresville Business Park East for just over $1.5 million, according to Iredell County real estate records. The Charlotte developer acquired a 26.6-acre site in the industrial park, which spans well over 400 acres.

QA1 Brands specializes in performance automotive suspension and chassis development. The company’s manufacturing operations will be mainly concentrated at plants in Minnesota and the new Mooresville location.
