A longtime West Virginia-based manufacturer is crossing state lines. Maple Manufacturing has announced the relocation of its operations from Weirton, West Virginia, to Yorkville, Ohio—a move expected to generate 35 new jobs in nearby Jefferson County.
The company, founded in 2017, provides specialized metal processing services for the container manufacturing industry, including steel shearing, coating, lithography and warehousing. Maple Manufacturing previously operated out of the former Ball Manufacturing facility in Weirton.
The new site is the Yorkville Intermodal Terminal Spec Building, a 100,000-square-foot facility built in 2019 with support from the JobsOhio Site Redevelopment Pilot Grant. Located along the Ohio River, the facility offers expanded space and upgraded infrastructure to support the company’s growth plans.
JobsOhio is backing the relocation with a $100,000 economic development grant, and Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE) worked with the company to help secure assistance. The move underscores continued regional efforts to grow manufacturing jobs and attract long-term investment to the Ohio Valley.
Although the departure is a loss for Weirton, the relocation keeps Maple Manufacturing’s operations within the greater Ohio Valley, maintaining economic ties between the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia and eastern Ohio.
The company’s expansion will allow it to better serve clients across several industries, including food canning, paint products, general line containers, and jar lids.
