OH: Toyoda Gosei Expands to Columbus Area, Creates 14 New Jobs

3 Jul, 2019

Toyoda Gosei, a Toyota Group company and leading global manufacturer of rubber and plastic automotive parts, has announced plans to open a new technical center in Dublin, Ohio, creating 14 new jobs. Hiring for engineering, technical and administrative positions will begin immediately.

Toyoda Gosei’s new technical center at 5555 Parkcenter Circle in Dublin will allow the company to expand its engineering and design capabilities for interior and exterior parts, as well as safety systems products. The new office will also help Toyoda Gosei foster a closer relationship with its key customers in the Columbus Region.

“Having a presence in the Columbus Region will allow us to bring new technology and capabilities to the market and be closer to our key customers,” said Yoshiyuki Fujita, President of Toyoda Gosei North America Corporation. “The rapid changes in the automotive and vehicle industries are driving new opportunities for us in the United States, and the timing is right for us to invest in new operations in the Columbus Region.”

Founded in 1949 and headquartered in Kiyosu, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, Toyoda Gosei operates across 17 countries and regions with a network of approximately 100 plants and more than 65 subsidiary companies. The company operates 25 locations throughout the Americas, with more than 12,000 employees and more than $2 billion in annual sales.

“We are thrilled to have Toyoda Gosei establish a technical operation in Dublin,” said Dana McDaniel, Dublin City Manager. “We continue to attract companies from around the world who find the innovation and skilled talent in Dublin critical to their company’s success.”

The Columbus Region is at the forefront of automotive technology and smart mobility. Region manufacturers produce 700,000 cars a year, while the regional economic output for the automotive industry exceeds $2.5 billion annually.

With greater access to the U.S. market than any other major metro, the Columbus Region is a strategic location for the movement of goods. Dublin is home to more than 20 corporate headquarters and an entrepreneurial center.

“The groundbreaking work that will be done at the Toyoda Gosei operation strengthens the innovative technology already being developed in Ohio,” said Jonathan Bridges, Director of Automotive at JobsOhio. “We and our partners at Columbus 2020 look forward to seeing Toyoda Gosei’s success in the Columbus Region.”
