OK: AAR Expands Aircraft Maintenance Facility, Bringing 200 New Jobs to OKC

Feb 04, 2026

AAR has completed a major expansion of its aircraft maintenance facility at Will Rogers World Airport, adding new capacity and jobs to one of Oklahoma City’s strongest and most established industries: aviation.

The expansion is expected to support about 200 new full-time jobs, including aircraft mechanics, technicians, and support staff. AAR also plans to roll out new digital maintenance systems at the site, modernizing how repairs are managed and tracked.

The project adds more than 80,000 square feet to AAR’s Airframe Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility, including three new maintenance bays designed to service Boeing 737 aircraft. The expansion allows AAR to bring more aircraft to Oklahoma City for maintenance as part of a long-term partnership with Alaska Airlines.

Company leaders and local partners marked the near-completion of the project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week, celebrating both the physical expansion and AAR’s continued investment in Oklahoma City.

“Today, we celebrate AAR’s growth and our longstanding relationship with Alaska Airlines,” said John M. Holmes, AAR’s chairman, president and CEO. “We are very grateful for Alaska’s trust and for the outstanding support we have received in Oklahoma City.”

AAR has operated in Oklahoma City for more than 50 years, with its facility located on the site of Will Rogers World Airport’s original Hangar 2. The company’s latest expansion builds that legacy, reinforcing Oklahoma City’s role as a hub for commercial aircraft maintenance and aerospace jobs.

As airlines continue to modernize their fleets, facilities like AAR’s play a key role in keeping aircraft flying safely and efficiently. For Oklahoma City, the project reflects sustained demand, long-term employer confidence, and continued growth in a sector where the region already competes nationally.
