OR: NSI to Locate New 62,000-Square-Foot Facility in Sherwood, Expanding Advanced Manufacturing

NSI, a supplier of ultra-high-purity gas, chemical delivery systems and sensing technologies designed for the semiconductor and solar industries, has signed a 10-year lease for a new 62,000-square-foot facility in Sherwood, Ore. The new facility will be in the Tualatin-Sherwood Corporate Park, reports the Portland Business Tribune

In a news release, NSI President Kyle Kimmerle said, "Currently we occupy two buildings with a total of 15,000 square feet of manufacturing. Our new location will allow us to dramatically increase our throughput to meet our customer's growing needs. This multiple-million-dollar investment shows NSI's commitment to growing with our customers."

The move comes in response to what the company says is a "growing trend of fab expansions, increasing demand and increasing capital equipment expenditures from the semiconductor industry in recent years," says the Business Tribune. Headquartered in Portland, NSI was founded in 2008.

"We are very excited to be able to work with Nuance Systems/NSI Manufacturing as they open their new 62,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility in Sherwood," added Sherwood Mayor Keith Mays. "We understand that this represents a major expansion of Nuance Systems/NSI, which is a key supplier to the rapidly growing semiconductor and solar industries. The Sherwood facility will create high-quality jobs and significant new economic impact to our community."

The NSI building is expected to be completed by June, with a move-in date set for late 2022.
