Bridge to Life to Locate New Facility; Create 70 New Jobs; Invest $45M

The South Carolina Department of Commerce, the Central S.C. Alliance and SCLaunch! today announced that Bridge to Life Ltd., a development-stage biotechnology company formed to advance the science of organ preservation and to develop, manufacture, and sell medical technologies, will locate its new facility in Richland County. The company will invest $45 million and create 70 new high-paying jobs.

Additionally, the organ transplant expertise at MUSC will play a critical role in Bridge to Life’s new product development. We appreciate the support we have received from state and local officials and look forward to expanding our company in South Carolina,” said John Bruens, chief commercial and business development officer for Bridge to Life.

Bridge to Life will locate its global headquarters in Columbia. The company plans to begin immediate commercialization of two FDA-approved products designed for use in the procurement, storage and shipping of human donor organs for transplantation.
