Samsung Networks America Inc. to Locate North American Customer Care Center

The South Carolina Department of Commerce, the Greenville Area Development Corporation and the City of Mauldin formally announced plans for Samsung Networks America, Inc. (SNA) to locate its North American Customer Care Center in Mauldin, South Carolina. The company will make a multi-million dollar investment to establish the service center, which will generate new job opportunities for the community.

SNA’s North American Customer Care Center will be located in the Centerpointe Business Park in Mauldin. The SNA call center will serve the customer care needs of numerous domestic and global companies.

“In today's global economy our state’s ability to compete and attract companies with the worldwide reach and scale of SNA is increasingly important. Further, their decision to not only locate here, but also generate significant job opportunities, is an incredible compliment to our workforce and efforts to establish a business-friendly environment that encourages growth and investment. We remain committed to working to better the economic soil conditions with meaningful reforms that will encourage job creation and allow more businesses to thrive in South Carolina,” said Gov. Mark Sanford.

Joe Taylor, Secretary of Commerce added, “SNA is a marquee name and a world leader in technological innovation. Their decision to locate in South Carolina demonstrates that our state’s business-friendly climate and capable workforce are again working to attract business and create substantial job opportunities for more South Carolinians. Thanks to the team effort of local and state officials, Mauldin and Greenville County will benefit from this investment now and in the years ahead.”

The company is seeking to fill a wide range of positions including customer service positions, operations managers, finance and accounting, training, quality assurance, data analysis, human resource and telecom system engineers. The company intends for the customer care center to begin operations by May 2009.

“SNA’s decision to establish its North American Customer Care Center here in Greenville County is welcome news, and truly the product of a team effort involving participants at the local and state level,” noted H.G. “Butch” Kirven Jr., chairman of Greenville County Council. “Their decision affirms that global companies can thrive and succeed in our state, further expands our depth and expertise in the call center/customer service center arena, and adds good paying jobs in our community.”
