Coastal Ready Mix announced plans to open a new ready mix concrete manufacturing location in Horry County. The company will invest $4.625 million and will hire 19 new employees.
Coastal Ready Mix LLC is the expansion of a fourth-generation, family-owned construction materials group led by Scott and Zach Askins. The family’s construction-industry roots go back to 1939, and the business has continued to grow under Scott’s long-standing leadership. Together, the family operates a group of businesses across South and North Carolina, including ready-mix plants, CMU block manufacturing facilities, and a cement import terminal in Wilmington, North Carolina. Their companies employ more than 160 people and serve contractors throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.
The new Horry County facility expands the family’s ready-mix operations into the northeastern portion of South Carolina. The company selected Horry County for its strategic location, strong regional growth, and proximity to customers with ongoing construction needs across the coastal and eastern parts of the state. Establishing this plant in Conway allows the Askins family to better serve both local contractors and larger multi-market customers, while providing the area with a locally owned and locally operated ready-mix supplier. The company’s mission is to support the communities it serves by delivering high-quality materials, investing in local jobs, and continuing the family’s long-standing tradition of reliability, integrity, and commitment to the construction industry.
The Conway facility will be located on Mt Pisgah Cemetery Road in Conway.
