The South Carolina Department of Commerce and Cherokee County today announced that OldCastle Lawn and Garden will expand its current production facility in Cherokee County. The $625,000 investment is expected to generate at least 30 new jobs.

OldCastle Lawn and Garden will add equipment to its current facility in Cherokee County. The new equipment will expand the plant’s production of the company’s bagged wood chip and mulch products. The company expects to start the expansion by the end of the year.

The company intends to begin hiring for the new positions in the spring of 2011 and will hire through the Gaffney Workforce Center at that time.
