More than $9 million investment expected to create 58 new

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 14, 2011 – SafeRack LLC, a maker of loading racks, platforms and fall protection equipment, recently announced plans to expand its current operations in Georgetown County. The more than $9 million investment is expected to generate 58 new jobs.

“We are excited about the chance to grow our footprint in South Carolina. We are seeing increasing demand for the products we provide and this expansion will help us to better serve our customers. Georgetown County has provided us an excellent place to do business,” said David Raines, chief financial officer for SafeRack.

SafeRack is in the process of adding production capabilities to its Georgetown County plant. The company produces a range of loading platforms and fall protection equipment at the plant, and the expansion will allow the plant to manufacture more customized products.

“Every day we’re working to recruit new business to our state, but we also work to make sure South Carolina provides an environment where our existing businesses can prosper. SafeRack’s decision to expand and create 58 new jobs shows we are on the right track,” said Gov. Nikki Haley.

Since the beginning of the year, South Carolina has recruited more than $3.9 billion in investment and more than 12,000 new jobs in the manufacturing sector.

“Manufacturing continues to be a job creator in the Palmetto State. Today’s announcement by SafeRack shows that South Carolina’s business-friendly climate and talented workforce continue to help companies succeed and grow,” said Bobby Hitt, Secretary of Commerce.

“Georgetown County is proud of the success SafeRack has enjoyed since locating in the Georgetown County Business Center industrial park in 2005. Seeing high tech companies like SafeRack grow at such a rapid pace speaks volumes for the quality of our workforce as well as our local business climate. We are excited to see jobs being created within our community and wish the company continued success in the years to come,” said Georgetown County Council Chairman Johnny Morant.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved the company for job development credits, which will be available when hiring targets are met. The S.C. Technical College System will provide pre-employment training.

The company began hiring this fall and it will continue as additional investment is made. Anyone interested in job opportunities with the company should e-mail Pward@saferack.com with “Employment” in the subject line.
