TN: Documotion Research to Invest $9.1M in Columbia Facility, Adding 48 New Jobs

Mar 02, 2026

Documotion Research, Inc. is investing $9.1 million into their Columbia, TN, facility to expand its operations in Maury County. This expansion will lead to the creation of 48 new jobs.

Documotion Research established operations in Maury County in 2020 and is the designer and manufacturer of StickyPOS®, a leading, patented linerless label and POS media solution designed to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance the customer experience.

The company will add approximately 40,000-square-feet of manufacturing space and maintenance operations. Founded in Santa Ana, Calif., in 1998, the company produces and distributes StickyPOS liner-less labels to more than 50,000 locations.

“Tennessee is leading the nation as the best state to do business because of our low-tax environment and highly skilled workforce. I’m grateful to announce Documotion Research’s expansion, which is a direct result of the strong statewide ecosystem we’ve built, and I look forward to seeing the success that follows.” – Gov. Bill Lee

“When a company chooses to expand here, it’s not only a testament to our state but also to the community that company calls home. I thank Documotion Research for its continued investment in Tennessee and commitment to Columbia and Maury County.”– Deputy Gov. and TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter

“Expanding our operations to Maury County in 2020 was one of the best decisions our company has ever made. We have been extremely happy with the help and support from the county and state as we have grown, which is the main reason why we decided to expand our operation here instead of opening another facility in a different region. We are truly thankful for the welcome that we were given when we first arrived in Tennessee and the continued support we have been provided.” – Joel Van Boom, president, Documotion Research

“Since its announcement in 2021, Documotion Reserach has been an especially good fit for the community, as its operations have created local diversification of industry, high-quality job opportunities and limited impact on local utilities. Additionally, it is extra exciting to celebrate an existing member of Team Maury as it reinvests in Maury County.  I congratulate Documotion Research on their expansion announcement and look forward to their continued success.” – Maury County Mayor Sheila Butt

“Innovative companies continue to select Columbia for their relocation and expansion projects. Documotion Research announcing an expansion within five years of locating in the community provides further proof that Columbia is an excellent and competitive place for innovative companies to operate. I congratulate Documotion Research on their expansion announcement and would like to express my sincere appreciation to our economic development partners for their support of this project.” – Columbia Mayor Chaz Molder

“TVA and Columbia Power & Water Systems congratulate Documotion Research on its plans to expand operations in Maury County. We are proud to work in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Maury Alliance and Middle Tennessee Industrial Development Association to support companies like Documotion Research as they continue to create job opportunities and investment in our region.” – Heidi Smith, vice president of economic development, TVA

“We are proud to welcome Documotion Research to Maury County. This $9.1 million investment and the creation of 48 new jobs is a clear sign that our community continues to attract quality employers who believe in our workforce and our pro-business environment. Economic growth like this strengthens local families and ensures continued opportunity for the people of Columbia and throughout our region.” – Sen. Joey Hensley (R-Hohenwald)

“Our community is a special place, and businesses choosing to expand here is a strong vote of confidence in our competitive workforce and commitment to economic development. Documotion Research is a vital part of our local economy, and I’m thrilled they have decided to invest further in Maury County. This significant announcement will lead to the creation of dozens of quality jobs, providing new opportunities for families and supporting continued prosperity.” – Rep. Scott Cepicky (R-Culleoka)
