International aerospace company will create more than 200 new jobs in Morristown with second expansion in less than a year.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter and Howmet Aerospace Inc. officials announced the company’s plans to expand in Morristown, Tennessee, during the Paris Air Show.

The announcement marks the company’s second expansion in less than a year, which will create an additional 217 new jobs on top of the 50 positions announced in Hamblen County last July 2024.

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries, creating jet engine and turbine components, fastening systems, aerospace structures, forged aluminum wheels and more. The company employs more than 1,000 people in Hamblen County and is one of the largest employers in the region.

“The state with the workforce will win the future, and I am proud to announce hundreds of new, high-quality jobs for Tennesseans across Hamblen County. Our state is shaped by brands like Howmet Aerospace that have committed investing in our skilled workforce, and I look forward to opportunity this project brings in the years to come.” – Gov. Bill Lee

“Today’s announcement underscores how vital partnerships are to the economic success of our state and our local communities. Thank you to our original partners – the company, City of Morristown, Hamblen County, TVA and our state legislature – for helping bring this expansion to fruition. Howmet Aerospace is expanding for the second time in less than a year because of the relationships formed during the recruitment process, and we are honored to join in announcing new jobs for one of Hamblen County’s top employers.” – TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter

“Howmet Aerospace’s Morristown operations play a critical role in enabling the next generation of quieter, cleaner, more efficient engines and power generation. We couldn’t be more excited to continue to grow in East Tennessee with the assistance of our tremendous state, local and regional partners.” – Merrick Murphy, president of engine products, Howmet Aerospace
