The City of Denton, TX, recently opened its second Target store, a large-format store located at Rayzor Ranch Town Center, which is expected to employ about 200 people. Spanning about 147,000 square feet, the Denton North Target will offer everything from household essentials and groceries to clothing and electronics. Services will include drive up, order pickup, same-day delivery via Target Circle 360, and an Apple at Target section.
“The opening of our newest Target location marks a significant stride in the development of our Rayzor Ranch community,” said Denton Mayor Gerard Hudspeth. “As our city continues to grow, providing high-quality, convenient shopping options while fostering job creation is a top priority. Target’s commitment is a welcome addition to our economy and daily life.”
Target says it has two more large-format locations slated to open later this year, and at least five more planned for the Dallas-Fort Worth area over the next couple of years. Overall, Target plans to open more than 20 new stores nationwide in 2025, and more than 300 new large-format stores over the next decade, reports Chain Store Age.
The larger store can accommodate a bigger-than-average fresh and frozen food and beverage section, including organic produce options, bakery and deli. Denton North is served by Target’s Dallas sortation center and Denton food and beverage supply chain facility, which supports the company’s 158 stores in Texas.
Located near the University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University, the new Target is positioned to serve the city’s large student population.
