Utah’s Silicon Slopes continues to be a hotbed of economic opportunity. Byte, a direct-to-consumer orthodontics company that 3D prints clear aligners and other orthodontics products, is expanding its operations in Utah, creating more than 150 new jobs.
“Byte’s story isn’t all that unusual in Utah. Businesses come here because of competitive tax rates, a tech-savvy labor force, 130 different languages spoken here, and fewer government regulations,” Gov. Gary Herbert explained. “With these factors, companies like Byte are giving Utahns something to smile about.”
Byte is one of the fastest-growing companies in Utah. In a joint interview with KUTV, Gov. Herbert and Byte’s CEO, Neeraj Gunsagar shared that he foresees the med-tech company, “having over 500 people in Utah, in three to four years.”
As the COVID-19 pandemic hit, they were one of the first companies to use its facilities to produce personal protective equipment for frontline workers, making reusable masks and face shields.
Marketing and customer service operations are based out of Byte’s Lehi, Utah office, which has been critical to its growing success. Byte’s revenue soared from about $15 million last year to $200 million this year, representing nearly 1,000% growth.
Utah’s tech industry continues to outpace that sector’s growth in other states. We welcome news of Byte’s expansion and appreciate the opportunities these jobs create for Utah’s workers and families.
