Feb 17, 2026

The Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) awarded MCM Engineering II a post-performance tax reduction for its expansion in Iron County. The corporate incentive is part of the state’s Rural Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (REDTIF) program.

Under the agreement, MCM Engineering II, Inc projects it will add 250 new, high-paying jobs and invest $168,000,000 in Utah during the next 10 years.

MCM Engineering II is a U.S.-based manufacturer of custom medium and low voltage switchgear, located in Enoch City, Utah. Founded in 1989, the company provides design, engineering, fabrication, and construction services for custom switchgear solutions, including power distribution centers and sheltered aisle walk-ins. Their products are used in industries such as utilities, mining, and renewable energy.

MCM Engineering II became part of the LS ELECTRIC America in 2020. LS ELECTRIC America is a subsidiary of Korea-based LS ELECTRIC Co. Ltd., a publicly traded company that employs over 4,500 people worldwide with offices and subsidiaries across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. The global footprint and ambition of LS ELECTRIC combined with MCM Engineering II’s engineering excellence reinforces the wider group’s objectives in power distribution, energy transition, and market responsiveness across North America.

“LS ELECTRIC America proudly supports Operation Gigawatt in Utah through its local operating company, MCM Engineering II,” said Charlie Chunghee Lee, president and CEO of LS ELECTRIC America and president of MCM Engineering II. “With the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity’s support, MCM Engineering is expanding its manufacturing base, boosting production capacity, and growing its workforce thus strengthening LS ELECTRIC America’s U.S. operations while fueling Utah’s and Iron County’s economic growth. As Iron County grows, Enoch City will emerge as the hub of our U.S. manufacturing where innovation and excellence will converge to shape the future of America’s energy industry.

“MCM Engineering’s expansion is a testament to the strength of Utah’s advanced manufacturing sector and our commitment to rural economic growth,” said Jefferson Moss, executive director of GOEO. “By expanding its footprint in Enoch City, MCM is not only creating hundreds of high-paying jobs, but also strengthening our capacity to build and maintain critical infrastructure that powers utilities, mining, and renewables.”

“MCM Engineering II’s expansion reflects a continued commitment to the area and builds on Iron County’s long history as a hub for advanced manufacturing in Utah,” said David Johnson, economic development director for Cedar City and Iron County. “By creating 250 new jobs over the next 10 years, MCM Engineering II’s long-term investment directly strengthens Utah’s energy infrastructure, supply chain resilience, and economic competitiveness.”
