The Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity awarded PPI America Inc. a post-performance tax reduction for its new manufacturing plant in Iron County. The corporate incentive is part of the state’s Rural Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (REDTIF) program.

As part of the agreement, PPI America Inc., projects to add 50 new, high-paying jobs and invest $52,200,000 in rural Utah during the next five years.

“Clean, reliable water is vital to Utah’s future,” said Jefferson Moss, GOEO’s executive director. “PPI America Inc., delivers safe drinking water while driving innovation, strengthening communities, and helping Utah attract new businesses.”

Founded in 1976, PPI Pipe Co. LTD. is a leading company in South Korea’s polyvinyl chloride (PVC) piping industry, specializing in pipes and fittings for water and plumbing systems. PPI America Inc., was established in 2013 and began importing its technologically advanced iPVC Water Pipe into the United States and installed in various regions across the country. PPI’s iPVC is the first PVC pipe and fittings to receive NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) certification as free of PFAS compounds regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, ensuring it provides safe drinking water. PPI America Inc. plans to continue expanding its efforts to supply clean, safe water to more U.S. communities through its iPVC products.

“During our evaluation of expanding our presence in the US, when looking at Utah and Cedar City specifically, we were extremely impressed with the rapid development of Iron County and its logistical advantages,” said Agnes HyeJung Lee, president of PPI America Inc.

“Cedar City has long held strong global ties with South Korea, and we are thrilled to welcome PPI America Inc. to our community,” said David Johnson, economic development director for Cedar City and Iron County. “Its decision to invest in Cedar City with a new production facility not only strengthens Utah’s economy but also reinforces our reputation as a place where international companies thrive. We look forward to the success of PPI America Inc. in Cedar City and welcome it to southern Utah.”
