Gov. Chris Gregoire recently celebrated the creation of 435 new jobs by HCL Technologies and CMC Biologics.

“CMC Biologics and HCL Technologies are leaders in their fields and will bolster our state’s reputation as a global hotspot for cutting-edge businesses and entrepreneurs,” Gregoire said. “Each of these new jobs represents another rung on the ladder families and communities are using to climb out of this recession.”

HCL Technologies held an inaugural event today at its new global delivery center in Redmond. The company expects to employ 400 people at the center and recruit graduates from nearby colleges and universities. Gregoire has pledged to provide $200,000 from the state’s Workforce Investment Act to help train the center’s workforce.

CMC Biologics also held a ribbon-cutting event today at its new biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Bothell. The company expects to employ 35 people at the facility when it ramps up to full capacity. With this expansion complete, CMC Biologics’ Bothell facility is larger than the company’s headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.
