Gov. Matt Bevin joined local officials and executives from Appriss Inc. to cut the ribbon on the data and analytics services provider’s new headquarters in Jeffersontown.
“Today marks an exciting milestone in the Appriss success story, and I am proud to celebrate with this Kentucky business as they open their new headquarters,” Gov. Bevin said. “Appriss is a recognized leader in data and analytics services, and their innovative products are used throughout the world to improve lives and assist our law enforcement, security and healthcare industries. We look forward to watching this hometown company continue to grow right here in the commonwealth and far beyond.”
The headquarters expansion and relocation to 9901 Linn Station Road in Jeffersontown consolidates services from two Louisville-area operations. The office building was previously occupied by BrightSpring Health Services, formerly ResCare Inc., which announced its move within Louisville to a newly constructed building on North Whittington Parkway. The Appriss Building, as the facility is now known, includes a fitness area, conference center and outdoor lounge, among other amenities.
Appriss CEO Michael Davis said the new building will help the company accomplish its mission.
“After 23 years of consecutive growth here in Louisville, Appriss can’t be more excited about future right here in our home town,” Davis said. “We are adding high paying, technical jobs as we pursue of our mission of helping victims, catching criminals and solving the opioid crisis.”
Appriss provides services to assist clients with safety, fraud, risk and compliance issues, and has been headquartered in Louisville since its inception in 1994 as the VINE company. Appriss uses data and analytics to address safety and compliance concerns for clients across an array of government and commercial enterprises in 25 countries, with a focus on retail, healthcare and public safety. The company currently employs 670 people in Louisville, Southern California, the UK and Poland. The new Louisville jobs are projected to pay an average wage of $80,000 per year.
Sen. Julie Raque Adams, of Louisville, described Appriss as a leading example for other local companies.
“I am encouraged by Appriss Inc. for their momentum in incentivizing growth and development,” Sen. Adams said. “With hundreds of high-wage job opportunities, their outstanding investments are paving the way for responsible growth here in Louisville. I am confident the work of Appriss will continue to strengthen our commonwealth.”
Jeffersontown Mayor Bill Dieruf noted the significant amount of work completed over the course of the past year.
“Last year at this time we were thanking Appriss for the announcement that they would be consolidating operations and growing their presence in Jeffersontown,” Mayor Dieruf said. “This year, we’re thankful that the new Appriss headquarters is now fully operational with over 400 employees in the now named ‘Appriss Building’. To say the renovations of the 9901 Linn Station Road property are phenomenal is a significant understatement. We see nothing but an impressive future for the region’s largest technology based company.”
To encourage the investment and job growth in the community, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) in October 2017 preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $3 million through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the agreement term through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.
In addition, Appriss can receive resources from the Kentucky Skills Network. Through the Kentucky Skills Network, companies can receive no-cost recruitment and job placement services, reduced-cost customized training and job training incentives.
