Governor Steve Beshear recently joined community leaders and officials of SIS for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the company’s recent expansion. The technology solution provider, which has been headquartered in Lexington for more than 25 years, is creating 15 new high-tech jobs as a result of the project. Average annual wages for the new jobs will be $80,000, exclusive of benefits.
“Today’s ribbon cutting symbolizes the growth of yet another fantastic corporate citizen in Lexington,” Gov. Beshear said. “Our efforts to assist our existing industries create new jobs and make new investments are paying off. The 15 new high-tech, high-paying jobs to be created by SIS is an example of that success. I look forward to an ongoing partnership with SIS for years to come.”
SIS moved into the recently renovated building formerly occupied by AAA, located on Barr Street in downtown Lexington. The expansion, which represents a $5.5 million investment, will provide data center and consulting services offerings including cloud computing, storage management, disaster recovery, application support and IT outsourcing.

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) preliminarily approved SIS for tax incentives up to $450,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment Program. The incentive can be earned over the term of the agreement through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments.
KEDFA also approved the company for up to $79,000 in benefits through the Kentucky Enterprise Initiative Act. The program allows approved companies to recoup Kentucky sales and use tax on construction costs, building fixtures, equipment used in research and development and electronic processing equipment.
