Footwear brand New Balance plans to hire more than 90 people, doubling its workforce, at it recently opened 80,000-square-foot footwear factory in Methuen, Mass., reports SGB Media.
The factory underwent a $20 million renovation and began producing shoes in January. It currently employs more than 90 people producing the brand’s MADE 990v5 running shoe.
New Balance, based in Boston, has manufactured its shoes in the U.S. for more than 75 years. The company owns and operates five factories in New England and one in the U.K., with more than 7,000 employees and worldwide sales of $4.4 billion.
