About New River Valley

Onward NRV, formerly known as the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance, is a public/private, regional economic development organization whose mission is to attract and retain world class jobs, investment and talent in Virginia’s New River Valley. It’s a movement where leaders from business, government, and higher education work together to promote the economic vitality of the region. Onward NRV is always striving to move the region forward; it’s an organization that gets things done.

We are comprised of 3 dedicated staff members, 32 active board members, and over 115 businesses and organizations who see the value of the organization and invest in our mission.  From our office in Blacksburg, we keep a finger on the pulse of our region to ensure that we’re developing and executing strategies that benefit the overall health and well being of the New River Valley.
