Governor Bob McDonnell recently announced that Spiniello Co., a leader in underground infrastructure construction, will establish an operation in Dinwiddie County. The facility will produce cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) liners to repair underground utilities, ultimately creating 35 new jobs.

Speaking about the announcement, Governor McDonnell said, “I warmly welcome Spiniello to Virginia, and to Dinwiddie County. Our lower operating costs first attracted the company to the Commonwealth, and ultimately Dinwiddie offered an available building that matched Spiniello’s current and future needs. As a leader in the CIPP industry and an established business since 1922, I am confident that the company will continue this path of success in Virginia.”

“It is always significant when a company establishes its first operation in Virginia,” said Jim Cheng, Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade. “Dinwiddie County is the right fit for Spiniello, and 35 new employment opportunities is welcome news for the region.”

Headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey, Spiniello has been at the forefront of underground infrastructure construction for nearly a century. Spiniello has established a client base that spans the public and private sectors, serving businesses of every size and industry, municipal, state and federal government agencies, every branch of the U.S. military, public and private water utilities, and a range of global organizations, including the World Bank. Spiniello focuses on making every project as safe, efficient and economical as possible. The company has a long history of innovation, applying the latest technologies, construction methods and safety practices within its operations.

“After a thorough review of several possible locations throughout the country, Virginia offers an abundant labor force and appears to be an ideal climate for economic growth,” said EJ Solimine, Executive Vice President of Spiniello Companies. “Virginia represents an excellent opportunity to increase our cured-in-place business. We feel confident our relocation to the Commonwealth is a significant investment to ensure our company’s growth in the future.”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Dinwiddie County and Virginia’s Gateway Region to secure the project for Virginia. Through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program, the Virginia Department of Business Assistance (VDBA) will provide funding and services to support the company’s recruitment and training activities.

“Dinwiddie County is pleased with Spiniello’s decision to invest in the County,” said The Honorable Doretha Edwards Moody, Chair of the Dinwiddie County Board of Supervisors. This investment will diversify the County’s tax base as well as provide employment opportunities for our citizens.”
