Commerce and Trade for the Commonwealth of Virginia
Patrick O. Gottschalk was appointed secretary of Commerce and Trade for the Commonwealth of Virginia in January 2006 by Governor Timothy M. Kaine. The Secretariat includes 13 government agencies dealing with issues from promoting statewide economic growth and tourism to developing and conserving energy and mineral resources.
Prior to his appointment, Gottschalk was a partner of the law firm Cantor Arkema, P.C. in Richmond, Va.
