Leland R. Speed

In addition to serving as Mississippi Development Authority's Executive Director, Leland Speed is founder and chairman of Parkway Properties, Inc. and EastGroup Properties, Inc., both NYSE-listed companies located in Jackson, MS. Speed is a member of the Mississippi Business Hall of Fame. Active in civic affiars, he currently serves as chairman of the Jackson State University Development Foundation, and as a member and past chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mississippi College. A native of Jackson, MS, Speed received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
