EVERETT, Wash. - When Deborah Knutson ordered the champagne last December, she didn’t know if it would be for the holiday celebration of a lifetime - or for a statewide wake. Knutson, president of the Economic Development Council of Snohomish County, in Everett, Washington, had an annual investors’ dinner to host. Who would have guessed that the date of the dinner, set months before, would turn out to be the very day the Boeing Co. was scheduled to make its biggest decision in a decade.
